Now wash your parts as well*

Graun obsession/long term-tactics clearly manifested today as LNandy is edited magnificently in a headline linking two moral panics in this piece
With coronavirus, the government must extend the Brexit transition period
we must agree with the EU to extend the Brexit transition period. Our businesses and our communities cannot cope with more uncertainty during this outbreak... An extension will mean that British citizens living abroad [Labour's new constituency?] will be able to access free health care for at least another year, that we are able to continue to access the Early Warning and Response System that helped us tackle the Sars virus and bird flu [only the EU early warning system will alert us --not the worldwide publicity?]
Actually, and typically, most of the article is sensible enough  Nandy wants:
statutory sick pay [extended]  to the self-employed and to the 2 million people who do not qualify from day one; otherwise many people will simply not be able to afford to self-isolate.
With the cost of borrowing currently so low, the government has no excuse not to use Wednesday’s budget to direct emergency funding to social care, which will be under severe strain over the coming months

In other news:
On a roll: is Britain ready for reusable toilet paper?
If you are, like me, invested in a sustainable lifestyle [flash those virtues], the idea is quite thrilling.
Surely a missed chance to demonstrate superior European cosmopolitan values by reviving the bidet? My possession of one convinced my neighbours I was a Remainer. However, there may be a case against

the lifecycle analysis (the process of adding up all the energy costs) of using and washing them is contentious.

I demand to see the figures! There is, however, a new chance to make a buck:

if you want to change a habit, you need to sell a whole system. Today’s disruptors shouldn’t just be selling the squares of textile, but also the hamper [!] that can be closed and easily carried to the washing machine.
